PDF Pathology Results Delivery

MedSmart saved money on printing and postage. We designed and implemented a Cerner Open Engine solution to send PDF-formatted pathology results to community doctors via secure email. The client was Children's Hospital Westmead.

Wound Tissue Assessment Integration

MedSmart improved community-based care for complex wounds and saved patients from unnecessary travel for reviews. We developed a Cerner Open Engine solution to receive wound tissue assessments in real-time and post them to iView. This was for Sydney Local Health District.

Ventilator Parameter Extraction

MedSmart improved Intensive Care ventilation practices by contributing data to a nationwide data warehouse. We designed and implemented a Cerner CCL extract of ventilator parameters collected in Intensive Care that feeds into a national database. We rolled this out to Footscray and Sunshine Hospital in Western Health Victoria.

Vital Signs Integration

MedSmart saved nurses time spent on transcription, provided faster access to results, and improved the accuracy of medical records. We developed a Cerner MPage and Open Engine application to import vital signs directly from bedside medical devices. MedSmart delivered this solution to Prince of Wales Hospital and Sutherland Hospital at South East Sydney Local Health District.

Mobile App Integration for Home-Based Patients

MedSmart improved the surveillance of home-based COVID patients and ensured their effective care at home. We designed and implemented a Cerner Open Engine interface to receive real-time information recorded by patients in a mobile application. The client was Prince of Wales Hospital at South East Sydney Local Health District.

Falls Risk Assessment Compliance Reporting

MedSmart helped nurse managers improve compliance with falls risk policy and supported hospital administrators in monitoring that compliance. We designed and developed a Cerner CCL report to track completions of falls risk assessments. We delivered this solution to eleven hospitals within South Western Sydney and Sydney Local Health Districts.

Technology uplift

MedSmart saved money and reduced technology risk. We ported an application from an end-of-life technology to MuleSoft. The application to normalised pathology HL7 messages. This client was eHealth New South Wales.

Discharge Summary Extraction for Research

MedSmart contributed to a research project focused on geriatric frailty indexes. We designed and implemented a Cerner CCL extract of RTF-formatted discharge summaries for Royal North Shore Hospital.

TriNetx Extract

MedSmart expedited and enhanced selection of candidate patients for clinical trials. We designed and implemented a big-data Cerner CCL extract of all clinical and administrative information. MedSmart delivered this solution to South-western Sydney Local Health District.

Surgical Case Extract

MedSmart saved time and improved procurement processes. We did this by designing and implementing a Cerner CCL extract of surgical case information at Western Sydney Local Health District. The extract populated a new procurement system called Traceability.
